Important Notice for Dash Cam Users

This guide applies to dash cam products. Proper memory card maintenance helps ensure stable recording performance.

Applicable dash cam products include a 128GB memory card unless otherwise stated in the product listing.

Why Memory Card Maintenance Matters

Dash cams use loop recording, which continuously records and overwrites older unlocked footage when storage becomes full.

However, files protected by emergency recording or G-sensor event protection may not be automatically overwritten depending on the product model and settings.

Over time, protected recordings and file fragmentation may reduce available storage space and affect recording performance.

Recommended Maintenance

Regular memory card formatting is recommended as part of normal dash cam maintenance.

The recommended frequency depends on:

  • Driving frequency
  • Road conditions
  • G-sensor sensitivity settings
  • Number of protected event recordings
  • Storage usage patterns

For frequent vehicle use, periodic formatting may help maintain stable recording performance.

G-Sensor Protected Files

The G-sensor may automatically protect recordings during impact events or sudden movement depending on product settings.

If the sensitivity setting is too high, normal road vibrations or bumps may create excessive protected files.

This may reduce the amount of available storage for normal loop recording.

Formatting Notice

Formatting the memory card will erase all stored recordings, including protected files.

Please back up any important recordings before formatting.

General Best Practices

  • Check periodically that recording is functioning normally
  • Back up important recordings when needed
  • Adjust G-sensor sensitivity if excessive event locking occurs
  • Use only suitable memory cards for dash cam recording where replacement is needed
